Compress an image to an exact file size
50 KB is the classic form-upload limit: passport-style photos, ID pictures and document scans for online applications very often cap at exactly this size. The 50 KB target is preselected here; add your image and download a file that fits under the limit at the best quality the budget allows.

Most compressors give you a quality slider and leave you guessing. This one works backwards from the number you actually need: tell it the limit, compress an image to 20KB, 50KB, 100KB or 200KB, and it searches for the highest quality that fits under it, shrinking dimensions only when quality alone cannot get there.
Exact size limits are everywhere: government and visa portals, job applications, exam registrations, university admission forms, email attachments and CMS upload rules. Set the target once and download the result.
Private by design
Your photos never leave your device. There is no server, no upload and no analytics; compression runs on a canvas inside your own browser tab, which also makes it fast and means it works offline once loaded. How does it hit the exact size?
Binary search over the encoder's quality setting: encode, measure, adjust, repeat. If even the lowest acceptable quality is still over the target, the image is scaled down proportionally and the search runs again.
Why did my PNG come back as JPEG or WebP?
PNG is lossless, so it cannot be compressed to an arbitrary target size. The tool re-encodes to JPEG (white background) or WebP (keeps transparency). Pick WebP if your image has transparent areas.
Is there a file size or count limit?
No hard limit. It is your browser doing the work, so it handles as many files as your device can.
