ZALGO TEXT
Cursed, glitchy, melting text made of stacked Unicode marks. Tune the corruption, copy, paste anywhere.
Transmission log
Zalgo text (also called cursed text or glitch text) stacks Unicode combining marks, the accents meant to sit on a single letter, dozens deep, until the text looks like it is melting or corrupted. Because the output is real Unicode, not an image or a font, it survives copy and paste into Discord, Twitter/X bios, YouTube comments, game chats and most places that accept text.
The signal meter controls how many marks stack on each letter; the three channels choose where they grow. Re-roll keeps the settings but picks new random marks. Keep it to short phrases: heavy stacks are hard to read and miserable for screen readers.
Why does it look different in different apps?
Every renderer draws combining marks its own way. Some clip the stacks to the line height, some let them overflow.
Will it get me banned anywhere?
Some servers filter extreme zalgo because it disrupts chat layout. Mild and Creepy usually pass; He Comes may not.
Where does the name come from?
From a 2004 creepypasta meme: Zalgo is a fictional eldritch entity whose arrival corrupts text.
